Molecular hydrogen (H₂) is the newcomer in Mallorca’s longevity offering: via a nasal cannula you inhale a hydrogen-oxygen mixture for 30 to 60 minutes, or alternatively drink hydrogen-enriched water. H₂ is considered a selective antioxidant said to neutralise particularly aggressive radicals without disturbing useful signalling molecules. So far only one longevity centre in Palma offers hydrogen therapy in Mallorca – alongside red light and other applications. Hydrogen therapy is so far offered in Mallorca only by the Qvantum Longevity Center in the Passage Els Geranis in Palma – alongside red light, andullation and frequency therapy. The form (hydrogen inhalation or hydrogen water), duration and prices are not published; in Spain inhalations usually cost €40 to €80 per session.

Molecular hydrogen is the smallest molecule and diffuses easily into cells and even into mitochondria. The hypothesis: H₂ selectively neutralises the particularly harmful hydroxyl radical and modulates inflammatory and signalling pathways without interfering with cellular signalling like classic antioxidants.
Since a much-cited study in Nature Medicine (2007) several hundred papers have appeared – mostly animal and small human studies with signals in oxidative stress, metabolic syndrome and athletic recovery. Large, independent studies are lacking.
Inhalation via nasal cannula takes 30 to 60 minutes and is odourless; hydrogen water loses its H₂ content quickly and must be drunk fresh.
H₂ is said to selectively neutralise aggressive oxygen radicals and dampen inflammatory processes. The evidence is promising but mostly small; robust long-term data are lacking. Many users describe a subjective recovery effect after exertion.
Single applications are around € 50 to 80 for 30 to 60 minutes; as an add-on in combination packages with HBOT, IHHT or the cryo chamber it gets cheaper.
Inhalation delivers a much higher H₂ dose and is the form more often studied. Hydrogen water is convenient at home but loses its H₂ content within a short time.
Hydrogen is physiologically harmless – the gut produces it itself. Medical devices keep the concentration below the ignition limit. Contraindications are barely known; with pre-existing conditions, consult your physician.
