Medical ozone (O₃) is an unstable gas mixed with oxygen at a precisely dosed concentration. In major autohaemotherapy it reacts with cells and plasma in the withdrawn blood; short-lived peroxides form, interpreted as a “training stimulus” for antioxidant systems and immune cells. Other forms are minor autohaemotherapy, rectal insufflation and local gassing of wounds. Ozone must never be inhaled and belongs exclusively in medical hands.
Cold atmospheric plasma is ionised gas at room temperature; in medicine it is used for wound disinfection. On full-body plasma beds you lie clothed on a couch that transfers negative charge to the body via a plasma field – at most a slight tingling is felt. The postulated effects (neutralisation of free radicals, improved cell membrane potential, regeneration) so far rest on manufacturer information, user reports and ongoing studies; independent proof of efficacy is pending.
For ozone there are positive studies in chronic wounds and certain joint indications; for “immune strengthening” or longevity robust evidence is lacking. Full-body plasma applications are to be understood as an experimental wellness application, not as therapy.
