Cryotherapy in Mallorca in 2026 means, above all, Palma and the Bay of Palma. The broadest offering is in Illetes, where Bluezone operates a TÜV-certified electric Art of Cryo whole-body chamber at −85 °C – no nitrogen, head inside the chamber, sessions of 2.5 to 5 minutes, from €39 for the first session and €34.90 per session in the 10-pack. At the physician-led IUNE Medical Center in Palma-Ponent the cold chamber (−85 °C, 2–3 minutes) is part of a medical longevity concept with a quick check of blood pressure and contraindications before every session. The island’s lowest temperature is offered by Dr. Diedrich’s sports orthopaedics on Avinguda Mèxic at −110 °C – embedded in sports medicine, DEXA scanning and shockwave therapy, Mon–Sat until 7 pm.

In the cryo chamber the body reacts to the extreme cold stimulus with strong constriction of the blood vessels in skin and extremities; after leaving the chamber a strong reperfusion follows. At the same time endorphins and noradrenaline are released – which explains the euphoric effect that keeps many users coming back.
Electric chambers cool the air with compressors and often work with a pre-chamber and main chamber (e.g. −60 °C and −110 °C). Nitrogen cryosaunas generate cold with evaporating liquid nitrogen; the head stays outside and the temperature figures (down to −190 °C) refer to the gas stream, not to a uniform room temperature.
Effects on muscle soreness, inflammation markers and subjective recovery after exertion are documented; long-term effects in the sense of “living longer” are the subject of research, not proven.

The stay at −85 to −110 °C usually lasts two to five minutes – depending on chamber type, experience and tolerance. Including changing and induction, allow 15 to 20 minutes.
Electric chambers cool the whole body including the head evenly and without nitrogen gas; they are considered the reference method from medical cold therapy.
