HBOT on Mallorca: seven pressure chambers, prices from 90 to 159 € – and what applies to divers

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy on Mallorca: which clinics and centres run a pressure chamber, what a session costs, how wellness HBOT differs from the medical chamber at Clínica Juaneda – and why divers should know the address.

Mallorca has more pressure chambers than you would think: seven providers in Palma and Illetes, from the clinical multi-person chamber for diving accidents to the wellness chamber in a longevity centre. This article explains who runs what, what it costs and how to find the right option.

Wellness and longevity: six addresses

Mara Aesthetics, Via Roma. The most transparent price list on the island: 129 € for the first session, 159 € for a single session, 725 € for five, 1350 € for ten, 2500 € for twenty sessions; post-operative recovery packages from 690 €; memberships with four to twelve sessions per month from 399 to 999 €. Dr Mariana Ostrerova’s clinic integrates the chamber into recovery after plastic surgery – one reason why Mallorca has built up HBOT capacity as a destination for aesthetic travellers.

Instituto Rubí, Hospital Quirónsalud Palmaplanas. Shared sessions with 100 % oxygen from 90 € – the cheapest HBOT option on the island, in the basement of the private hospital, combined with red light.

Global Clinics, Santiago Rusiñol. Revitalair chamber, every session prescribed and supervised by a doctor, initial examination compulsory, 60 to 90 minutes – embedded in traumatology, physiotherapy and Cenegenics longevity plans.

Medisans, Ciutat Jardí. Single-person chamber with pure oxygen, 50 to 90 minutes, frequency from daily to weekly depending on medical assessment; ozone therapy in the same building.

IUNE Medical Center, Palma-Ponent. HBOT as one element of doctor-led longevity programmes, combined with IHHT, a cryotherapy chamber and ozone; sessions of 60 to 90 minutes.

Bluezone, Illetes. Sessions of around 90 minutes in the pressure chamber of a recovery centre, combinable with a cryotherapy chamber, light therapy and a flow system.

The medical chamber: Medisub at the Clínica Juaneda

Since 1995 Dr Juan Miguel Batle has run the only clinical multi-person chamber in the Balearics at the Clínica Juaneda – a main chamber for five to six patients, an antechamber, rated up to 9 bar. It treats decompression accidents, gas embolisms, CO poisoning, chronic wounds, diabetic foot, radiation injury and sudden hearing loss – on medical referral. For divers this is the most important address on the island; there are no wellness sessions here.

Hardshell, softshell, pressure

The effect depends on pressure and on oxygen: hardshell chambers reach 2.0 ATA and more with pure oxygen, softshell chambers usually 1.3 to 1.5 ATA. On Mallorca hardly any wellness provider states its operating pressure – ask about it, and ask whether the oxygen comes via a mask or a concentrator. A medical assessment before the first session (pneumothorax, acute infections, pressure equalisation) is standard at Global Clinics, Medisans and IUNE; at Bluezone and Mara Aesthetics you should insist on it.

Who HBOT on Mallorca makes sense for

For recovery after aesthetic or orthopaedic procedures (series of 5 to 20 sessions), for endurance athletes at a training camp as one element of recovery, for residents with long-Covid symptoms or chronic fatigue under medical supervision – and for longevity protocols in which HBOT is combined with cold and hypoxia. The evidence for “anti-ageing” is promising but not settled; reputable providers say so openly.
